I recently completed my first PC build after using a pre-built system for five years. I'm running a GTX 1660 Super with an i5-10400F. Everything has been going well, but I've noticed that my PC randomly shuts off without warning at infrequent intervals—no lights or sounds, just a complete power down. I initially had EXPO enabled but turned it off since I wasn't sure if overclocking was necessary. My power supply is new, so I'm not sure if that's the issue. I'm hoping for some suggestions on what could be causing this shutdown before I consider replacing the power supply. I can't check it out again until I'm home from work. Any ideas?

It sounds like CPU overheating could be the culprit, especially if it's shutting down under heavy load. Have you checked the event viewer for any logs? Also, does running a stress test cause it to shut off? If you’re playing demanding games, that could be triggering the shutdown, too.
It might be overheating protection kicking in if you're doing heavy tasks. Your PSU should be fine unless it's a defective unit. Did you make sure to remove any plastic from the cooler? Sometimes, if there’s any left on, that can mess with the heat dissipation.
Your build looks solid! Start with the basics: double-check all your power connections (both ends if it's a modular PSU), reseat the RAM, and ensure your CPU cooler is properly installed and plugged in. Overheating could definitely be an issue if everything isn't mounted flat on the CPU.
