I'm playing GTA Online Legacy Edition at a 2K resolution with some friends, and while my specs are solid, I'm having issues with frame rates. Here's what I'm running: Intel Core i7-14700KF CPU, GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Ti Super AERO 16GB GPU, and 32GB of RAM. Usually, I get around 100-120 FPS, but I occasionally see drastic drops to 30-60 FPS, which ruins the gameplay experience. Given my hardware, I expected better stability. Can anyone help figure out what might be causing these sudden FPS drops?

Quick question—are you using a controller? Sometimes those settings can affect performance depending on how they're configured.
I used to game at a 2.5K resolution and found that GTA Online ran perfectly at 90 FPS with my RX 7800 XT. You might want to try capping your framerate around 120 FPS. I remember that exceeding 160 or 170 FPS caused some dips in performance with this game, even on better hardware than mine.
I haven't given the Enhanced version a go since my buddies stick to Legacy. I suspect it might perform better, but it’s frustrating—random drops happen even in areas where I've loaded everything, which makes the game tougher to enjoy.
That frame rate is pretty solid for 2K! The random drops could be due to high temperatures. Sometimes, even if it seems like temps are okay, thermal throttling can still kick in. Might be worth checking your system's cooling performance or looking into FPS capping options. They're popular for keeping the stability up.
I get higher and more stable FPS in newer games—around 180 FPS on my 2K 165Hz monitor. But with GTA Online, it can drop unexpectedly. My temps stay around 65, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Maybe you could try capping your FPS to see if it stabilizes things.
Nope, I'm all about the keyboard and mouse for now!
