I'm looking to switch from Linux Mint to Debian, but I'm also open to exploring other distributions. As a relatively new Linux user, I'm eager to step out of my comfort zone. I'd like to get a bit more hands-on experience while still retaining some familiarity with the system. Are there any other distros I should consider, and do you have any tips for making this switch?

Before jumping to a new distro, why not try a different desktop environment on Mint? You could experiment with a window manager like i3 — it might deepen your understanding of how things work under the hood. Get comfortable with the terminal and text editors, do some customization, and you'll find that Linux Mint can be just as hands-on as Debian. Plus, you can select to use either environment at login!

Absolutely! Starting with the terminal and making small tweaks can really enhance your understanding. You don't have to ditch Mint entirely.
