I'm curious about the current pricing for basic workstation computers suitable for tasks like using MS Office and general office work. Last year, I managed to get three units from my Dell Premier account for around $610 each, but now I'm struggling to find anything below $1000. What are you all paying for similar setups?

We've stopped deploying desktops since COVID started. For laptops, we're averaging about $1400 each with our usual configurations being Ryzen 7, 16-32GB RAM, and 512GB-1TB storage. We’ve had good luck with that setup.

That's a solid choice! Performance is key, especially with remote work.

Totally agree! Laptops are just so much more versatile.

We're using Intel NUCs for lower-end needs, like clocking in and out on the shop floor. You can find them for around $450-$600 on Amazon, and they're durable enough for shared use cases.

We typically don't buy basic models anymore since we prefer higher performance setups. Our desktops and laptops all come with i7 processors, 512GB storage, and 32GB RAM, so they usually run just over $1000. Plus, we primarily use laptops with Dell docking stations for most users.

That makes sense! Laptops do seem to be the way to go nowadays.

Absolutely, laptops with docks save a ton of space and make things easier in the office!

Just picked up around 50 units from Dell recently – basic i5 models with 16GB RAM and 256GB NVMe drives, and they cost just under $600 each. Definitely a good deal right now!

I just ordered a bare-bones Dell Optiplex for about $350. It’s not much, but it gets the job done for basic tasks.
