I'm getting back into PC building after six years, and I'm a bit confused by how manufacturers explain the use of PCIe slots on motherboards. I'm looking to build a setup with a good GPU that can utilize PCIe 5.0 at 16x. Additionally, I want to use two M.2 drives at optimal speeds in RAID for gaming, while having another M.2 drive for running Windows. However, it's tough finding a motherboard that clearly states it supports this configuration. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you considered not RAIDing your SSDs for gaming? Most PCIe 5.0 SSDs are already super fast, and the performance difference compared to PCIe 3.0 drives is minimal for gaming purposes. You might save some hassle by sticking with individual SSDs.

I totally see your point. I was just trying to find info on benchmarks for RAID vs standalone, but it sounds like RAIDing isn't necessary after all. Thanks for clarifying!
