I just sold my RTX 4060 to upgrade to a 5070 from Walmart, but I forgot to use DDU to uninstall the drivers first. My CPU doesn't have integrated graphics, so I'm a bit concerned about what will happen. I've read mixed reviews about the 5070, especially some complaints about black screens. Previously, when I had my 4060, I had to roll back to an older driver version because the latest ones weren't great. Is there any reason to worry? Will my system even POST without this step?

You should be just fine! Your system will still POST even without running DDU first. Once you get your new GPU installed, you can run DDU then to clean up your drivers before getting the latest updates.
Honestly, I've swapped GPUs from the same brand before without any hiccups. It's really not a big deal unless something goes super wrong. Worst-case scenario, you might need to do a complete Windows reinstall, but that’s pretty rare.
No worries! You're moving from a pretty new NVIDIA card to another similar one, so there shouldn't be any issues. Just grab the latest drivers when you're ready to set everything up.

Yeah, and remember, Windows can usually handle these changes pretty well. I've switched cards many times, and Windows just defaults to a basic driver while you get the new ones installed.
