I recently installed Linux Mint, and now my internal 1TB Toshiba HDD is showing up as read-only. I can't delete or create any files on it. The drive is NTFS formatted, and I need some guidance on how to resolve this issue. Any suggestions?

I appreciate the tips! I don’t have Windows on my laptop, and since the HDD is internal, I can't access it through a Windows system. The advice I've found hasn't worked out so far. Any other ideas?
One quick fix could be to do a clean reinstall of Linux Mint and set up your partitions manually. This way, you might bypass any existing issues that came from the previous installations. Just a thought!
It sounds like your HDD might have some filesystem issues. Linux can sometimes mount NTFS drives as read-only if it detects a problem. You can try using the `ntfsfix` command to repair it somewhat, but for deeper issues, you would typically need a Windows installation to fix the filesystem properly. Also, if you're encountering this after using Windows, make sure you haven't left the fast boot option enabled, as it can cause problems when switching back to Linux. You might need to adjust how it's mounted too, so check your `/etc/fstab` settings for the drive.
