Trouble Getting My HDD to Work in a RAID Enclosure

I recently bought four 8TB hard drives to use in a RAID enclosure, and I'm trying to set it up so the computer recognizes them separately. However, the drives aren't being detected, and after about 30 seconds of blue lights, they all switch to a steady red without any flashing. I've tried each drive individually in the enclosure, but I get the same result every time. I'm really stuck and could use some help to figure this out!

So you mentioned plugging in the RAID enclosure both ways—first powered on and before powering it on. That’s a good approach! If you’re not getting any recognition from the drives in either setup, it could indicate a power issue with the enclosure itself. Double-check the power supply and connections to make sure everything is secure.

It sounds like you might be in a "read the manual" situation here. Make sure to check what the manual says about setting up your specific enclosure. Sometimes, you need to initialize and format the drives before the system recognizes them, especially if it's set up as RAID. If this enclosure acts like a NAS, it might have its own setup processes to follow.

First things first, have you checked if the drives are initialized? Sometimes, if they haven't been set up correctly, your system won't recognize them at all. If you can't get the enclosure recognized, you might want to directly try connecting the drives to your computer to initialize them that way.
