Is Coil Whine Normal for the Seasonic TX-1600 Noctua PSU?

Hey everyone! I'm curious if anyone has experience with the Seasonic TX-1600 Noctua power supply. I've noticed that when I put my ear close to it, there's a slight buzzing noise when the system is idle. However, it's not loud enough to hear from about a foot away. Is this behavior typical? My previous unit, the Seasonic PX-1600, was completely silent, and I paid 500 EUR for this one, so I'm a bit concerned.

What you're hearing is just coil whine, which is pretty common with electronic devices that have coils. It can be annoying, but it's not a sign of any actual problem. If the buzzing isn't audible from a normal distance, it might be best to just let it go and enjoy your build!

Just to add, I experienced coil whine with my previous power supply too. It's really random and can happen to any PSU. But if you're worried about it, just keep an ear out when your GPU is installed. The buzzing could vary when the system is under load.”,

I totally get your concern—my PX-1600 was super quiet too! I had some buzzing issues with the Noctua version as well, especially when idling, but it didn't turn out to be a big deal once the GPU was in. I hope it stays quiet for you!
