Considering a Switch to Linux: Which Distro Should I Choose?

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about making a switch to Linux as my main operating system on my home PC. I've dabbled with various Linux distributions like Ubuntu, Kali, and EndeavorOS mostly at work or through virtual machines and WSL at home. But now, I want a full Linux experience on my home setup. I've been using Windows primarily due to gaming and the performance of Office apps, along with some occasional video editing and graphic design. However, I'm looking to take full control of my PC and move away from using a VM or WSL for Linux.

Here are my specs: Intel i7-12700K, 64 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD, 4 TB HDD, NVIDIA 4070 Ti, and an ASUS ROG Strix WiFi motherboard. I'm particularly interested in using all the resources of my PC without limitations from the OS. I'm debating between Fedora Workstation and Ubuntu Desktop since I prioritize stability, but I'm open to other suggestions too. I'm more familiar with Ubuntu's apt and snap, but I'm willing to learn dnf, rpm, or yum as needed. What are your thoughts?

I've made the switch from Ubuntu to Fedora Workstation on my NVIDIA setup, and I've really enjoyed it. One of the best features is that Fedora uses Wayland by default, which I find smoother than X11. Sure, I had to troubleshoot a few issues along the way, especially with how restrictive Flatpaks can be—Obsidian gave me some headaches! But overall, I definitely recommend going with Fedora Workstation 43; it's a solid choice for your needs.

I'm all for Fedora! You won't regret it. Everyone I ask about the best distro for newcomers usually mentions Fedora at the top. It tends to be user-friendly while still powerful.
