Should I wait for a better CPU deal or go for the 245K now?

Hello everyone! I'm considering upgrading my 4-year-old AMD 5600x setup and was really interested in the Intel Ultra 265k. Unfortunately, that deal sold out super quickly! Now I'm weighing my options:

1. Should I wait for potential Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals, even though it seems unlikely?
2. Should I settle for the 245K deal at $225, even though I'll lose 6 cores?
3. Hold off for the now sold-out 285k deal at $429?
4. Wait for the upcoming 200s Plus series?

By the way, I'm located in the US and I'm working on a Hackintosh, so an Intel CPU would suit my needs better. I don't mind getting a last-gen chip as long as it can handle 3-4 years of 1440p gaming. Thanks for your advice!

The 14600k has been going for about $150 lately and it's a solid choice for 1440p gaming.

I heard about that too! But is the 14000 series still having stability issues?

If you can hold out a bit, I'd recommend waiting for the 285k deal since it could be worth bumping up your budget. If that's not an option, consider the i7 14th gen KF; it’s really affordable right now and performs better than the newer Intel models. Just keep in mind you'll need a decent liquid cooler since the 13th and 14th gen can run hot, but you can find reliable options for around $100. If you can go AMD instead, that may be a better choice given some of the issues Intel is facing and the 200 series being slower than the previous generations.

Thanks for the advice! Just a heads-up, I’m in the US too. I don’t mind waiting for the 285k deal, but I want to keep using my Thermalright wind cooler for now.
