I've been a full-stack developer specializing in TypeScript, React, and Node for about seven years, and right now I'm on a break at my consulting agency. With all this free time, I want to take the opportunity to learn something new. I'm feeling a bit unsure about the best direction to take next because there's so much happening in tech. I'm considering areas like AI integration, modern backend patterns, cloud infrastructure, and maybe even diving into new programming languages. What skills do you think would be most valuable for the future, and what would you focus on if you were in my position?

AI is definitely where the spotlight will stay! I'd recommend really diving deep into how AI systems work—understanding the mathematics and probabilities behind them. This knowledge will keep you in a strong position in the job market as AI continues to grow.

I'd suggest getting a certification in either Azure or AWS. Not only will it help you build a solid project using new technologies, but it'll also give you valuable skills that are in high demand right now!

I'd focus on modern backend patterns. Learning about serverless architectures, microservices, and event-driven systems can really enhance your skill set. These areas are becoming increasingly important, especially for scaling applications effectively.
