Fedora KDE 43 Update Causing Games to Not Start

Hey there! I recently updated my Fedora KDE Plasma system, and now my Steam games won't start. Everything was working fine before the update. I've checked the integrity of a couple of my games, tried various Proton versions (9, 10, experimental), and even ensured my GPU driver is updated. I also attempted to run the games with the previous Fedora version using GRUB, but no luck. I'm relatively new to Linux, so I'm wondering if I should just wait for the next update to potentially fix this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My specs are i5 13700KF, RTX 3080, and 64GB of RAM.

I ran into this issue today and fixed it by downgrading some Mesa packages. You can try running `dnf downgrade mesa*` to see if that resolves your issue.

I had a similar issue after updating Fedora. I noticed an Nvidia package error briefly during the splash screen, which could suggest a problem with the Nvidia drivers. I'd recommend trying to uninstall and then reinstall them. I did a fresh install of Fedora 43 for a different issue, and that fixed mine, though I ended up with a few new problems after that!

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely look into reinstalling the drivers!

Good idea! I usually record errors on my phone if they flash by too fast, so I can check them out later.
