Looking for a Better Linux Distro for Gaming and Programming

I've been using Linux Mint as a complete newbie for about a month, and while I think it's good, I'm starting to feel like I need something more. My X11 display server is having issues, and Wayland doesn't seem to work for me. My computer is around three years old, so maybe that's contributing to the performance problems. I'm looking for a Linux distribution that has a great graphical and command-line interface, good programming applications, is beginner-friendly, and optimized for gaming. I'd also like to figure out how to keep my existing data from Linux Mint, though I know that's not always guaranteed.

You should definitely explore what's causing the X11 issues first. Learning how to troubleshoot will help you with future problems too. But if you're after something that works well right out of the box, Fedora might be a solid choice for you.

Totally agree! Fedora has a reputation for being user-friendly while still offering good performance and features.

First off, it would help to know what kind of hardware you're using and any apps that have been giving you trouble. Have you tried other distributions or desktop environments with X11 or Wayland? Often, the best way to get your system running smoothly is by customizing your distro to fit your hardware and software needs, but it really helps to have more info for tailored advice.
