Is there a way to save AWS CodeCommit from being deprecated?

I've been using AWS CodeCommit a lot, and while I know it's not the most popular choice, I really appreciate its simplicity and how seamlessly it integrates with CodeBuild. However, since AWS has deprecated it, I'm worried about its future. Is there a way we can preserve it or options we could explore? Is anyone else feeling the same way?

Agreed! It's frustrating that it's deprecated. I'm hesitant to use it for any serious projects now.

You could always set your pipeline source to GitHub instead. Everything else would remain the same, so it might be an easy transition.

I've never been a fan of CodeCommit either. It can be really clunky.

I'm with you! I appreciate CodeCommit too, but saving it might be a long shot. We’ve moved on to using Forgejo instead. It's more robust but definitely overkill for what we needed.

I totally get your frustration. While CodeCommit might not have the bells and whistles of other platforms, I found it convenient to keep everything within the AWS ecosystem. Like, I could store Terraform files in a CodeCommit repo and have CodeBuild automatically handle changes. Now that it’s deprecated, I’m not sure what the best next step is.

Honestly, I think it's too late for CodeCommit. It's been out of the spotlight for quite some time, so I wouldn't be surprised if it gets discontinued soon.

I'm still using SimpleDB in production, so I get holding onto older tools. They can sometimes surprise you, but honestly CodeCommit hasn't impressed me.
