Is Upgrading from 1080p to 1440p Worth It?

I'm trying to decide whether to invest in a GPU that properly supports 1440p gaming, given my budget of around 55,000 PHP (about $932). I wonder if the upgrade to 1440p is significant enough to justify the extra cost, especially since I'd have to hold off on buying a QHD monitor until then. What do you think about the differences in image quality and performance?

From my experience, the difference is pretty solid, especially when switching between them. I found the jump from 1080p 24" 60hz to 1440p 27" 144hz to be fantastic. When you go back to 1080p, it really hits how much better 1440p is!

Going from a 27" 1080p to a 27" 1440p made a huge difference for me! Everything appears less pixelated, and I can multitask a lot better with various applications on-screen. It's like night and day!

Upgrading to 1440p from 1080p is definitely noticeable, especially on larger screens. When you stretch 1080p across a 32" monitor, the graphics look quite rough. It's better to choose a monitor you love and then get the GPU to maximize its potential. My 5070ti handles 1440p games on my monitor at high settings and framerates without a hitch! For me, moving to 4K just isn't worth it due to the crazy pricing and only slight visual improvements.

That's a solid point! I'd also say if you're going to upgrade, maybe look into a high refresh rate too. It makes a big difference in overall experience!

Honestly, it’s more than just a technical leap; it’s visual delight! 1440p to 4K is less impactful, but going from 1080p to 1440p? That's a major upgrade in image clarity! Definitely worth considering if you can afford it.

For me, the jump to 1440p was worth it. While the difference isn't gigantic, you definitely get better visuals compared to 1080p without the heavy performance hit that comes with 4K. Plus, with 1440p, you can comfortably fit a 27" monitor, which feels much nicer compared to a 24" 1080p. 1080p on a larger screen can really lose its charm!

Absolutely, screen size along with resolution plays a huge role in the viewing experience!
