Transitioning from Nursing to Software Development: Where Should I Start?

Hey everyone! I'm 23 years old and have a background in nursing with some knowledge of HTML and CSS. I'm considering a career switch to software development. I've been thinking about self-teaching through resources like The Odin Project and Codecademy, but I'm unsure if that's the best route for securing a job. Would a college degree or bootcamp be more beneficial for breaking into this field, especially given the current job market? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

The coding industry is pretty shaky right now, so I'd say just make sure this is something you really enjoy before committing fully. If you love coding and are motivated to do personal projects in your spare time, then go for it!

Changing careers at 23 is totally doable! If I may ask, what’s prompting the switch when you’ve only been a nurse for a short time?

I enjoy nursing for the job security, but I want to work from home and discovered a passion for coding during the shutdown. I started college and was in a nursing program, but I feel drawn to tech.
