I've just gotten my hands on a 5070 Ti, but it doesn't seem to be functioning correctly. After doing some digging, I suspect it might be a power supply issue since I've removed the fans, the GPU is firmly in the PCIe slot, and my motherboard just shows a black screen. Currently, I have a 650W EVGA power supply, but I'm only using two 8-pin cables. Do I actually need to buy a third cable to make it work?

From what I've seen, it's best to go with the native 12vhpwr connector directly from the PSU or get a double 8-pin to 12vhpwr cable. It's the safest option for getting that GPU running smoothly!
It’s pretty straightforward: you’ll need to connect all three power plugs for the 5070 Ti to work. Nvidia recommends using a 750W power supply for this GPU to ensure stability and performance. Just make sure you have enough cables connected!
Yeah, without the third one, it probably won't boot. Just grab another cable and you should be good to go!
If you haven't already, reaching out to EVGA support might help too—they could send you an extra cable based on your setup. It's worth a shot!

True! Using a double 8-pin connector should give you a more secure connection. It’s generally how these setups should be wired.
