Is the MSI SHADOW GeForce RTX 5070 a Good Buy for My First PC Build?

I'm putting together my first PC after using a gaming laptop for five years, and it's getting slow. I found the MSI SHADOW GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GDDR7 graphics card on sale for $527.45, which seems like a decent deal considering a $120 discount plus my Walmart 10% off coupon. Are there any thoughts or recommendations on whether I should go for this card?

You might want to check out the 9070 XT for around $600 or a 9070 for about $550—those could offer better value in the US. Just something to consider before making your decision!

The 5070 at $549 is typically a solid choice. At this price, it's not a bad deal. If you're set on this card, it should serve you well!

Make sure to compare GPU prices available in your area. Look at options like the 5070, 5070 Ti, or even higher models if your budget allows. For instance, I found the 5070 Ti for $300 more than the 5070, so I opted for the 5070 instead and put the saved money to good use. Tailor your choice to what fits best for you!
