I've recently switched to a smaller PC case for better portability since I travel a lot. However, I've noticed that my temperatures are significantly higher now, averaging around 85°C during gaming. Could anyone share some tips on how to improve my cooling? Here are my specs:
- Case: JONSBO D32 PRO
- Motherboard: B650M D3HP
- CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X
- GPU: 4070 Super
- PSU: MSI MAG 750W
- Cooling: 1 rear exhaust fan, and I'm unsure about placing fans at the bottom due to proximity to the GPU. I'm using a Thermalright FW 240 AIO cooler.

Seeing temps around 85°C with your setup is pretty normal, especially in a smaller case. If you're looking to reduce those temps, investing in Noctua fans could be a good idea, as they're known for their cooling efficiency and quiet operation. Just be aware they can be a bit pricey depending on where you live.
Make sure to check your AIO fan configuration. Are they set as intake or exhaust? It’s important for managing airflow. If you've switched them all to exhaust, that could help reduce the heat buildup inside your case. The smaller size can lead to higher temps, but you might improve airflow by optimizing fan placement.
You’re right! I initially had the rear fan set as intake but found that switching it to exhaust helped clear out hot air! It's a learning curve with the smaller cases.
Honestly, 85°C is fine for a Ryzen 5 7600X. It's not hitting thermal throttling levels, so you’re still getting optimal performance. The trade-off for a more compact setup often means higher temps, so keep that in mind.

Yeah, Noctua fans can be expensive! I understand that 85°C isn't alarming, but it's worth noting that I had lower temps with a larger case that used a CPU cooler. So if you're considering budget-friendly alternatives, look for fans that offer decent airflow without breaking the bank.
