I'm considering an upgrade since my GPU (4070 Ti Super) has died, and I'm expecting a warranty replacement for either a 5070 or 5070 Ti. My current build includes an 8700K CPU, a Gigabyte Z390 motherboard, 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 RAM, a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro, and an EVGA 1000W Gold power supply. I'm looking at getting a 14700K for my new CPU, but I've heard that RAM prices are outrageous right now. Can I keep using my current DDR4 RAM until prices drop, and what motherboard should I get? I've noticed there are way more options for motherboards than I'm used to?

Yes, you can stick with your current DDR4 RAM when switching to the 14700K. Just keep in mind that the motherboards for the 14700K will only support either DDR4 or DDR5, not both. If you're planning to upgrade the RAM later, it might not be worth it to get a new motherboard just for DDR5 support afterwards.
Honestly, a 14600K should be more than sufficient for most tasks. You could save money by going with that and using the extra cash for the now pricey RAM. But hey, if you find a good deal on the 14700K, then go for it!
Stick to DDR4 for now; it should serve you well until RAM prices get more reasonable.
