Which RAM Should I Choose: CL36 6000MHz or CL40 7200MHz?

I'm putting together an all-white build and initially planned to get some Corsair 32GB CL36 6000MHz RAM. Unfortunately, the store just informed me that there's no stock available. They've offered me the TeamGroup Delta 32GB CL40 7200MHz RAM at no extra charge instead. However, the next Corsair option available costs about £30 more. Should I go ahead with the TeamGroup RAM or spend the extra cash on the Corsair?

Looking at specs, CL36 6000MHz has a good chance of being overclocked a bit, so you could potentially squeeze out more performance without the headaches of the higher speed RAM. Just plan for some manual tuning if you decide to go that route.

Before making a decision, consider what CPU you're using. If you're on a Ryzen chip like the 9600X, higher speeds can be tricky. You might need to tune it down for stability with that fast RAM. If you'd prefer ease of setup and reliability, go with the CL36 6000MHz.

That makes sense! I’ve heard Ryzen doesn’t handle high RAM speeds as well as Intel.

True, but sometimes you can still make it work fine manually.

I'd recommend the CL36 6000MHz kit. It should be easier to manage and won't hit your memory controller as hard, leading to better performance overall. Plus, it’ll likely be easier to get stable without extensive tuning.

Absolutely! The performance difference might not be worth the hassle with the 7200MHz.

Exactly! Stick with what’s proven unless you really need those extra speeds.
