How do I wipe a preloaded M.2 SSD with Windows 11 so I can set it up myself?

I'm building a new PC and my M.2 SSD came preloaded with Windows 11 from another user, but it's locked and I can't log in. I need to figure out how to wipe the drive from BIOS to input my own Windows key and create a new account. By the way, I'm using a Gigabyte motherboard. Any tips on what to do?

If you just bought the M.2 SSD, you might want to consider returning it for a refund. A used drive usually loses a lot of its value. But I get that you might be past the return window by now. It can be frustrating to deal with these kinds of issues, so good luck!

Yeah, I've been there too. Sometimes you just have to make do with what you have and figure it out instead of returning it.

To wipe the SSD, you'll want to create a bootable USB drive using the Windows Media Creation Tool. Boot from that USB and you should get the option to format the drive during the install process. This will help you start fresh without those driver issues you're worried about.

I tried to make a bootable USB but struggled. Any guidance on how to do that?
