Help! My New PC Randomly Restarts During Gaming

Hey everyone! I've been facing a frustrating issue with my new PC build where it restarts unexpectedly while I'm gaming. Sometimes the screens go black but all the lights and peripherals stay on, like it's not fully powering down. I had the PC built by a local shop at the end of August, and initially, the crashes were infrequent, but now they're happening more often. Just yesterday, I experienced three crashes in a single gaming session! I seem to be fine playing lighter games like Stardew Valley, but it's a different story with more demanding titles such as Arc Raiders or Deadlock.

Here are my specs:
- MSI MPG B650 EDGE WIFI with DDR5
- AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- Sapphire Radeon RX 9070 XT
- 32GB Kingston Fury 6000mhz RAM
- Cooler Master Hyper 622 Halo CPU air cooler
- HYTE Y60 Mid-Tower
- MSI Mag A850GL PCIE5

When the PC was delivered, they ran a stress test that showed everything was fine. I've been keeping an eye on the CPU and GPU temperatures using HWMonitor, and they're usually around 80 degrees while gaming, which seems acceptable.
I've tried using the AMD Cleanup Utility twice to manage my drivers, but it feels like the problem has worsened. The shop suggested it might be a driver issue. Should I try DDU to clean out the drivers, or would a factory reset and Windows reinstall be a better move? I'd love to explore all options before going back to the shop since it originally worked fine for a couple months. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If the PC is still under warranty, definitely consider having the shop take a look at it. They should be able to diagnose any issues at no extra charge, but keep in mind any extended warranty fees you may have. It could save you a lot of headaches if it's a hardware fault!

That's true, but I wish it was free! I didn’t get the extra warranty, and it costs about $80 just for them to check it out. I thought I’d try fixing it myself first since it worked fine for the first couple months.

Sounds frustrating! Since you mentioned monitoring temps and they seem fine, it might be worth looking into enabling EXPO (AMD's version of XMP) to optimize your RAM speeds. It could help with stability in more demanding games. Let me know if you try it!

I didn't know that! I'll give it a shot when I get home and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the tip!
