Why Does Linux Mint Only Boot with the Nomodeset Command?

I recently installed Linux Mint on my system, and I'm having an issue where it won't boot properly unless I enter the 'nomodeset' command. I believe I've installed the necessary drivers, but this workaround seems to be required every time I try to boot. My hardware includes an RX 580 graphics card and a Battle Ax B450M motherboard with M.2 support.

You can make the 'nomodeset' option permanent by adding it to your GRUB configuration. This way, you won't have to type it every time you boot. Just check out how to do that on forums like Ask Ubuntu for detailed steps.

Have you considered trying a different Linux distribution that comes with a more recent kernel, like Fedora KDE? Sometimes newer kernels have better support for current hardware.
