I'm trying to set up a Hyper-V cluster using two hosts and a direct-attached SAN with multipath configuration. The SAN is connected to each host with two dedicated iSCSI NICs on internal IPs. I've created two volumes, one for storage and one for quorum, but I'm unsure if I'm doing it right. My main question is whether I need to bring the LUNs online on both hosts before I create the cluster. I'm getting an error during the cluster creation process, and the validation shows errors related to network connectivity between my hosts: multiple interfaces are unreachable from one another on port 3343.

Thanks for the suggestion! Changing the subnet fixed the connectivity issue! Validation passed without errors, but I still can’t create the cluster for some reason. Any tips?
It sounds like having direct attachments to the servers can complicate things. For optimal setup, you should consider using a switch so that both servers and the SAN can communicate with each other. This way, each server can access both the SAN and the other server. If you prefer to avoid using a third device, there are guides that talk about creating virtual resources that can act like a switch using only your two hosts. Check out some online resources for configuring your cluster. Here's one: https://www.nakivo.com/blog/hyper-v-cluster-setup/.
Since you have dedicated connections, make sure every network interface is on its own unique subnet. This way, Windows won’t mistake them for being part of the same communication line.
You can certainly bring your volumes online before creating the cluster, but to pass validation, those volumes must be accessible from both nodes. Start simple: try creating the cluster with just 2 nodes connected by a single cable first, and leave the storage bit out for now—add that after you get the cluster set up. This should generally work without needing a switch. Just double-check your cable connections to ensure they're placed correctly.
