I currently have a pretty weak setup with an i3 7100 processor, a GTX 750 TI graphics card, and 16GB of 2666MHz RAM. I'm looking to upgrade, but I'm torn between upgrading the processor and motherboard first or the video card. Right now, I mainly play CS2, but I want to start playing Warzone or similar games too. I'm considering either a Ryzen 5 5500X3D or Ryzen 7 5700X for the processor, and a 6650XT for the graphics card. Ideally, I'd like to upgrade one now and the other within a year. Which upgrade would give me the most immediate benefits? I've noticed that my CPU usage hits around 85% to 93%, often peaking at 100%, while my GPU runs between 88% and 95% depending on the map and circumstances.

I'd suggest going with whichever component is cheaper to upgrade first. Both upgrades will significantly boost your performance, but keep in mind that you'll end up bottlenecked by the other component regardless of what you choose.
Definitely prioritize the CPU, RAM, and motherboard first. You can use your old GPU while saving for a new one. Upgrading the CPU will improve overall performance, especially since you're seeing high usage in games.

That makes sense! But is it better to go with AM5 or just stick to AM4 for compatibility?
