Looking to Upgrade My PC: CPU and Motherboard Recommendations Needed

I'm working with a PC I built back in 2016 that has a Ryzen 3070 GPU, but I'm experiencing some bottlenecks during gaming. I want to upgrade my CPU and motherboard to be compatible with Windows 11, and I need something that will last me a few years before needing another upgrade (just the GPU later on). I already have RAM set aside and a solid case with good cooling.

I primarily use my PC for gaming and casual browsing, playing titles like Tarkov, BF6, and DD2. Here are my current specs:
- Asus Sabertooth Z170 S (Motherboard)
- Intel 6700K (CPU)
- 64GB DDR4 RAM
- 3070 8GB (GPU)

1. What offers the best bang for my buck?
2. What's considered the best in class?

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you're open to spending a bit more for top-tier performance, consider the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X or the Intel i7-12700K. These chips will handle gaming like a champ and will keep you well ahead for years. Just make sure to get a motherboard that supports PCIe 4.0 if you're considering upgrades later!

For a solid upgrade, you might want to look into the AMD Ryzen 5000 series or the Intel 12th gen CPUs, like the i5-12600K. They offer great performance without breaking the bank. Pairing either with a good motherboard like the ASUS ROG Strix B550 or Z690 could be smart, especially for future-proofing and compatibility with Windows 11. Your current RAM should work fine with the new setup too!
