Hey everyone! I have a secondary PC that I mainly use for 3D modeling, game development, and testing out game servers. I've been thinking about upgrading to the AM5 platform, but the RAM prices are just crazy right now. Here's my current setup:
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
- MOTHERBOARD: ASUS ROG STRIX X570-I
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB 3200MHz (2x8GB)
- GPU: ASRock Challenger RX9070 XT (just upgraded this and might sell it for a profit)
- CPU COOLER: ROG STRIX LCII 360 AIO
- SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB
- PSU: ROG THOR 850W
- Monitor: ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACG (1440p, 180Hz)
I really want to max out my monitor's capabilities and make the most out of the AM4 platform until at least the end of 2026 or when RAM prices come down. I actually picked up my components back in 2022 during a local ROG festival. By the way, I'm based in Singapore, not the US. Sorry for the formatting, I'm posting from my mobile!

Honestly, the biggest bottleneck for you right now seems to be the RAM. 16GB is getting on the low side for modern gaming and heavy applications. Upgrading to 32GB would definitely help improve performance, especially for your 3D modeling and game development tasks. Just keep an eye on those RAM prices, they’ve been fluctuating a lot!

Yeah, I totally get that! DDR4 prices have been wild lately. It's tough to decide when to pull the trigger on an upgrade.
