Need Advice on Upgrading to a New Graphics Card

Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a pinch and could use your input on a graphics card upgrade. I just sold my old GTX 1080 Ti and I'm now deciding between the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti and the AMD RX 9070 XT. My use case is mostly gaming and schoolwork, with some light number-crunching and AI tasks on the side. Plus, I need a card ASAP for a LAN party this weekend! Here's what I've found:

- There's an RTX 5070 Ti going for $853, but it has a shipping delay of over a month; however, the fastest shipping options are around $978.
- I've located an RX 9070 XT at a local shop for $730, and it's available for immediate pickup.

I have a few questions:
1. Is the RX 9070 XT worth it at $730 considering the pricing comparison?
2. Will I miss out in the long run by going with AMD over Nvidia, especially regarding features like DLSS and ray tracing?
3. Any suggestions for a budget PSU? I might need a new one since I'm upgrading from the 1080 Ti.

I think the 5070 Ti has the edge with ray tracing and DLSS, which could come in handy, but the RX 9070 XT offers better raw performance and 16GB of VRAM for less cash upfront. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!

If there’s a $200 price difference, I'd definitely pick the AMD one unless you're planning to use VR or really rely on DLSS. Personally, I’d just wait for the RTX 5070 Ti since it’s a better long-term investment, but that’s just my view!

Nvidia cards do have the upper hand in ray tracing, but keep in mind that AMD’s FSR 4.0 stands up quite well in terms of quality. It's a nice middle ground, though not exactly on par with Nvidia’s DLSS.

Sounds like you’re really leaning towards the 5070 Ti, especially since you mentioned future-proofing and its good performance with AI tasks. If you can stretch the budget to $830 for the Nvidia card, it might pay off in the long run. Also, check out that PSU, the Seasonic Focus 750FX is pretty reliable!

Go for the RX 9070 XT at that price. You'll get a solid card without waiting around; plus, it’s a great deal! By the way, what CPU are you running? You might need to upgrade that too to avoid bottlenecks.

Dude, if you're just going to the LAN party, you can stick with your current GPU and snag the RX 9070 XT later. It’s selling for $599 on Newegg right now, so maybe wait a bit? Better deal for sure!
