Hey everyone! I graduated in November 2024 and I'm still on the hunt for an entry-level IT job (Level 1). I've got about two months of internship experience under my belt. I'm curious about which certifications I should consider, and also what kind of PC would be best for work purposes. During my internship, I primarily used a Lenovo ThinkPad, but since I'm on a tight budget, I want to make sure I invest wisely to kickstart my career in the industry. Here are some technologies I've worked with: Active Directory (AD), Microsoft 365 Admin, Remote Desktop Services (RDS), Hyper-V, GoDaddy, Windows Server, and Remote Support, among others. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The job market in Quebec isn't the best right now, but cybersecurity roles are in demand. I recommend learning cloud technologies like AWS or Azure, and getting comfortable with Linux command-line skills. Those can really make you stand out! Also, consider checking out subreddits like r/Qc and r/quebecsysadmin for more resources and job leads.
Look into Managed Service Providers (MSPs); gaining experience there for about 3-5 years can be a great launching pad for your career. You'll get a lot of hands-on experience to bolster your resume before moving on to other opportunities. Plus, they often have entry-level roles available!
Where do you typically find MSP job listings?
Can you share more about what to look for in an MSP?
Just a heads up—GoDaddy isn't really considered a tech company in the way you're thinking. It might be worth focusing on more reputable tech tools to boost your resume.
I noticed that too, tough times out there!
