I've got a Dell Inspiron 5402 with an i7 1165g7 processor and Nvidia MX330 graphics. I've been using Core Temp, and after booting up, my laptop idles around 50-55°C, but sometimes it spikes to 90°C and then cools down again. I live in Rajasthan, India, where it's quite hot right now—around 43°C in the afternoon. When I browse with Brave and watch YouTube, the temps jump to 70-80°C. I haven't changed the thermal paste in 4 years, and I cleaned the laptop recently, so it's not dusty. Any advice on whether these temperatures are normal or if I need to do something?

Idling at 50-55°C is pretty normal for laptops. Anything under 90°C is usually fine, so don't stress too much about it. Your laptop has built-in safeguards to shut down if it gets too hot.
That sounds about right. Laptops can get warm, especially since your idle temp is only 10 degrees above the ambient temperature. While a re-paste could help a bit, it's probably not worth the hassle unless you really need it.
Yeah, alright mate, cheers!
Repasting can definitely help lower those temps, and it's worth trying if you've had the laptop for a while. I remember getting better temps after I cleaned my old laptop and applied new thermal paste.
Thanks, bro!
Yeah, laptops naturally run hotter than desktops. Just keep an eye on it—let us know if you see 90°C regularly outside of stress tests.
Aight mate, cheers!
Totally normal! Laptops operate hotter than desktops due to their compact design. If it's been a while, maybe consider cleaning out the cooling fans, but you should be okay otherwise.
Thanks for the info!
Alright, thanks!
