I'm posting for a friend who has a Lenovo G34w-10 monitor, which is around 4-5 years old. Recently, the display appeared with a squished resolution that I've never seen before. The monitor has been flickering on and off for a while, especially when using Photoshop, but this is the first time the resolution has changed like this.
They tried unplugging and replugging the power and even swapped out the data cables, plus they reinstalled video drivers, but nothing seems to bring back the image. Now, it seems the computer isn't even recognizing that the monitor is connected. They're worried the monitor might just be dead and are curious about how much it would cost to fix the backlight compared to buying a new one for around $200.

Have you tried connecting the monitor to another computer or console? That could help rule out whether it's the monitor or something else.

Unfortunately, they mentioned that the other computer doesn’t have a DisplayPort, so that’s not an option.
