I've bought everything I need for my new PC, but with prices skyrocketing due to a RAM shortage, I'm worried I've made the wrong choice. I'm considering 4x8GB DDR5 RAM since 2x16GB kits are way overpriced on the used market in my area. However, I've heard people say that using four sticks might not be the best move when it comes to achieving the advertised speeds. Should I go for the 4x8GB setup, or is there a better option?

Using 8GB sticks might not be ideal either. Generally, they use fewer chips compared to 16GB sticks, which can affect their performance. If you really want 32GB, make sure you’re aware of the speed issues it might bring.
Yeah, I’d avoid using four sticks if I were you. DDR5 systems often struggle with more than two DIMMs when it comes to hitting those high speeds. You’ll probably want to stick with just two modules for reliability and performance.
I definitely wouldn’t recommend going for 4x8GB. If you can, try to grab a single 16GB stick and wait it out for better prices. It’s a much safer bet for speed and stability!

What do you mean by ‘worse in quality’? Isn’t it all just the same tech?
