Hey everyone, I've been running Linux on my PC since July, and I'm really enjoying it. However, I've hit a major snag with my Pico Neo 3 VR headset, which just doesn't work well at all on Linux. There's no official support, and the app I'm using for connection frequently disconnects from Steam VR and crashes. I'm considering installing a version of Windows 10, like Tiny10, on my external hard drive to get things running smoothly. I don't have any issues with Windows 10 itself (I even use IoT on my laptop for Game Maker Studio 2, which also has problems on Linux). All I need is access to Steam and my NTFS drives, which hold about 4.5TB of data. I know this goes against the principles of software freedom, but I'm really eager to play my VR games. Any advice?

You’re not alone in this, but if you're committed to Linux most of the time, it could feel a bit like a betrayal. Still, gaming sometimes needs compromises. Maybe dual booting is an option if you're using an external drive? That way, you won't be too far from your Linux setup when you want to switch back to it!
Installing Windows for gaming is really common among Linux users. Just ensure your hardware is compatible. If you run into issues, forums or Discord can be great places to seek help once you switch over! Enjoy your VR!
I think you've got a tough but common situation there! While it might seem odd asking for Windows advice in a Linux space, many users have made similar choices for gaming. Tiny10 can be a good option since it’s lightweight, but make sure it’s compatible with your VR headset. Just be aware that you'll likely have to jump through some hoops to get everything set up just right. Good luck!

For sure! Tiny10 should work fine for most VR stuff, but if you can, I'd also suggest trying a full version of Windows 10. It might have a bit more stability and official support.
