Hey everyone! I currently have a mini PC that I've been using for about two years just for some light gaming. I've mostly been playing Fortnite, but I also enjoy Overwatch, Minecraft, and Roblox. I'm starting to think about upgrading to a custom-built PC, but honestly, I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed by the whole process! I'd really appreciate any tips or advice you might have. I have some basic knowledge of computers and their components, but I've never actually built a PC myself. Any recommendations or insights would be super helpful!

Are you thinking about doing upgrades in the near future? How long do you want this build to last? Honestly, building the PC itself isn’t that tricky once you watch a few tutorials. The parts can be a bit tricky, though. Do you have any preferences between NVIDIA, Intel, or AMD?
Building your own PC can be a rewarding experience! It's all about mixing and matching the right components. Just ensure you pick a good power supply; you definitely don’t want it failing on you. I recommend checking out reviews and benchmarks for parts. Look into the latest PSU tier list for power supplies and SSD tier lists for storage. Since GPUs are typically the priciest part, be prepared to spend there. If you're looking at RAM, prices are quite high right now, so decide quickly between DDR4 and DDR5, and aim for a 2x16GB kit—either 3200MHz CL16 for DDR4 or 6000MHz CL30 for DDR5. For around $700-$800, you could build a solid AM4 setup, though AM5 might be a stretch budget-wise at the moment.

I definitely want it to last! And I don’t have a preference for any brand.
