Hey everyone! I've recently made the switch to Linux from Windows 10 since my old PC isn't compatible with Windows 11. I'm using Pop! OS and everything is working great, except for gaming. I mainly play The Sims 4 and Genshin Impact using Lutris. However, I'm running into a major issue: both games are super slow and laggy, making them practically unplayable. I've tried adjusting the in-game settings but it hasn't helped. While checking my system resources, I noticed that my CPU and RAM are getting maxed out when I play these games. My setup includes 24 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5 6402P CPU at 2.80 GHz, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 GPU. I'm confused as to why this is happening since they ran fine on Windows 10. Do I need to consider a different Linux distro or perhaps upgrade my PC? I'm open to using the terminal for any solutions you might have!

Hey! Have you tried running The Sims 4 through Steam instead? I've heard that some games work better that way, and Genshin has its own launcher that might be more efficient outside of Lutris. Also, things like Bottles could sometimes run games better than Lutris. Just a thought!
Resource management can be tricky! If your games are using too much CPU and RAM, consider checking the background processes that might be consuming resources. Sometimes other applications can use up significant memory, leaving less available for gaming.
Did you make sure to install the latest NVIDIA drivers? That might be crucial for getting those games to run smoothly on your setup. If the drivers are not updated, it could definitely lead to the issues you're seeing.

I’ve bought a lot of DLCs directly from EA for TS4, so I'm a bit unsure how to access those through Steam. But I’ll definitely look into using Bottles!
