I recently encountered a frustrating issue where my PC unexpectedly shut down while I was away. When I returned, it was on the start screen, and upon unlocking it, I noticed that my monitor settings were all messed up – stuck at 60 fps with the wrong screen scaling. I tried changing my refresh rate, but the option was missing. To my shock, I discovered that my graphics card wasn't showing up in Task Manager anymore. The only indication I found in Device Manager was a yellow warning icon next to it. I tried launching AMD Adrenalin to update the drivers but got an error saying it's not compatible with my current graphics driver. I built this PC just last May; it's my first build. I even opened the case to check the graphics card for any damage, but visually it seems fine. It powers up and displays on my main monitor (using DisplayPort), but not at all on my second monitor (using HDMI). I'm running Windows 11 (version 10.0.26100 Build 26100), and my specs are: Mobo: Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC, GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7600, CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, and 32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM. I tried using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in Safe Mode to reinstall my drivers as someone suggested, but now my PC freezes about 20 seconds after booting without any signs of recovery. What should I do? Am I in a really bad spot?

If the DDU approach doesn’t work, consider checking your BIOS settings. Sometimes a simple reset to factory settings can help restore detected components. Just make sure to back up your data first, as some changes can lead to data loss.
It sounds like you've gone through a lot already. Definitely try using Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to completely remove your GPU drivers. After that, download the latest drivers directly from AMD and install them. That usually clears up issues like this.
Good luck! I hope that fixes it. Just make sure you're in Safe Mode when you run DDU.
I appreciate it! I'll give it a shot.

That’s a solid point! I’d recommend making a backup of important files, just in case.
