Hey everyone, my computer was in the same room as a small fire that damaged a lot of my stuff, but thankfully, the computer itself looks okay. The plastic wires didn't melt, so I think it might have survived. However, I'm worried about possible smoke damage. What would be the best way to clean it up? I've got a picture, but I can't share it here. Thanks for any tips!

It really depends on how bad the fire was. If there’s visible staining or damage, you might want to start using a quick-dry electronic cleaner as soon as possible. Smoke from a fire can be very corrosive, and it might rust your components faster than you'd think.

The fire was bad enough that it burned all my things, but I think the computer was spared mostly. There’s some staining on the glass case, but inside looks alright. I'm planning to clean it today since it happened five days ago.
