I just built a new PC using an MSI X870E motherboard paired with an AMD 9950X processor. After a clean install of Windows 11 Pro on an NVMe drive, everything went smoothly. Now, I'm thinking about upgrading to a 9950X3D CPU. Will I need to reinstall Windows, or could I run into issues if I don't?

You generally don't need to reinstall Windows just for a CPU upgrade. Windows is pretty tolerant of hardware changes, but keep in mind that it has a limit on how many components you can change before it asks you to re-activate your license. It's not too hard to get it working again if that happens, though.

I have a digital license too. When you say it might revoke, does that mean I can’t use it at all, or just that I might need to reinstall?
