I've just built my first DDR5 setup and, after buying my components, I found out that using two 16GB modules is generally better than four 8GB modules. I'm awaiting my Intel Core i9-14900K processor and feeling really anxious about whether this will work out. My motherboard is the Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi. Have I made a huge mistake? Will my RAM configuration run smoothly? This is the first time I've felt uncertain after 15 years of building computers, and I'm pretty stressed about it.

Honestly, you should just install the RAM and see how it goes! You might hit some limitations on speeds, especially if you try overclocking, but it should still boot up and function fine at default speeds. Don't stress too much about it!
I totally get why you're worried! From what I know, having 4x8GB won't give you the best overclocking potential compared to 2x16GB, but it should still work without significant issues. Just give it a shot and see! Are you able to return the RAM or swap it out if it doesn’t work as you hoped?
Hey, don't beat yourself up! You’ll likely still get decent performance with your current setup. It might not reach the highest speeds compared to a 2x16 configuration, but it will definitely do all the computing you need it to do!
