I've recently upgraded from a 2016 MacBook Air to a new 2024 M3 MacBook Air, which has 516GB SSD and 24GB RAM. Even though my old laptop never showed the "Application Memory Full" alert, I'm getting this warning repeatedly on the new one. I typically keep multiple tabs open for schoolwork, but after closing Chrome several times and clearing caches, I still see memory usage climbing even with just two tabs open. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'm confused by what the activity monitor is showing. How can my new laptop with 24GB RAM be using so much memory when my old one with 16GB RAM handled things just fine? I feel like there's a memory leak happening, and I could really use some help trying to figure this out!

Sounds like classic Chrome issues! A lot of folks have been running into memory problems with Chrome lately. It can be a real memory hog, especially with lots of tabs open. You might want to try an alternative browser like Safari or Firefox for a while and see if that's any better. But since you mentioned you need Chrome for school, just try to limit the number of tabs you keep open as much as possible. Also, consider using extensions that help manage your tabs or even close unused ones automatically. Every little bit counts!
Thanks for the suggestion! I really don't want to switch browsers, but I'll look into those tab management extensions. I appreciate the tip!
