Hey everyone! I'm back again to ask for your advice about upgrading my CPU. I've been using an Intel Core i5-6500 with my 3070 Ti for quite some time, but it's showing its age—it's from 2015! Given the current RAM shortage, I'm torn between going for an AM4 setup where I can use my existing DDR4 RAM or jumping to AM5 with DDR5 RAM instead. My goal is to game at stable 1080p 60fps, and my budget is around $450. What do you all think? Should I go with a solid AM4 CPU or take the plunge with AM5? I'm located in Europe, so I'm also curious about access to decent prices here. Thanks in advance!

Consider whether you'd want to eventually upgrade again. If that's a yes, then AM5 is worth it. If you're fine with what you have now, a good AM4 CPU might be the better financial choice.
I suggest considering a Ryzen 7 7700X or even a 9700X if you're looking towards the future. While AM5 is more future-proof, AM4 is still fine for now, especially with your existing DDR4 RAM.
Honestly, with RAM prices being so high, I'd lean towards AM4. If you can find a Ryzen 5700X3D or 5800X3D at a good price, those would do great without breaking the bank.
If you're aiming for 1080p 60fps and have a 3070 Ti, a Ryzen 5 5600 or an Intel i5-12400F will serve you well. You could also save the difference to upgrade other parts like a monitor!
