Hey everyone, I have a somewhat complicated situation that I could use some guidance on. I'm currently dual booting Windows 10 and EndeavourOS, but after installing Grub, I've run into a problem: I can hardly access my BIOS anymore. I managed to get in once by messing around with a USB stick, but other than that, I've tried everything I found online without success.
My motherboard definitely supports UEFI, but I suspect both my operating systems are installed in Legacy mode, which complicates my access to the BIOS. It seems like the BIOS is automatically trying to boot into Grub at startup, making it tough to get into the BIOS by just holding or spamming the BIOS key.
Now, I'm considering reinstalling both OSes, not just to tidy up my partitions but also to ensure they are set up in UEFI mode. I'd love any advice or tips from those of you who might have walked this path before. Anything I should specifically keep in mind would be super helpful! Thanks a ton in advance!

It's generally better to use UEFI, especially if you're sharing a boot partition for both operating systems. In Legacy mode, Windows updates can overwrite your EFI files, which might be causing the issues with your BIOS access. I recommend taking some time to back up your important data (maybe use an external drive), then reinstalling both systems. Start with Windows in UEFI mode, make sure to disable fast boot in the BIOS, then go for your Linux install. Don't forget to back up your home folder before you reinstall! This way, your configurations can be easily restored, minus maybe the bigger game files. Good luck!
Hey, make sure to mention your distro details and any specific hardware info next time you're seeking help! It just helps in getting more tailored advice!

Thanks so much! This is exactly the info I needed. I'm going to start prepping for the reinstall soon!
