A few days ago, my iPad Air unexpectedly wiped all its data while I left it charging. I had just updated it using iTunes, not done a full restore or anything like that. The next day, I turned it on and found that all my files were gone. I'm really upset because I lost important work and artwork. Unfortunately, I can't restore a recent backup since the last one I have is several years old. Is there anything I can try to recover my data, or prevent this from happening again?

I’m really sorry to hear that! If you don’t have a backup stored on your computer or iCloud, it’s pretty much impossible to recover your data. Unfortunately, unless the data was synced elsewhere or saved prior, it might just be gone for good. Always a good idea to back up regularly to avoid situations like this!

Is there anything I can do to avoid another random wipe?
