I'm looking to upgrade my PC this holiday season and I have a budget of about $500-$600. My current setup includes a GTX 1660 Super, a Ryzen 5 3600X, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and I think a 650W power supply. I haven't checked the PSU yet, and I'm using a B450 Aorus motherboard. I'm currently playing Rust and struggling with 40-50 FPS on larger servers. What CPU or GPU upgrades would significantly improve my frame rate?

If you're on a tight budget, maybe just upgrading your GPU to something like an RX 6700 could still improve your FPS significantly without breaking the bank. Just make sure your PSU can handle the new card!
I was in a similar situation, and it was tough to decide! If you're looking to upgrade, I'd recommend the Ryzen 7 5800X along with an RX 6800XT. For around $550, that combination should get you around 100 FPS on 1080p low settings in Rust, which is a massive boost!
Have you considered a used RTX 3070 Ti? A friend of mine is selling one for about 10% less than the market value. It should perform really well and might be a better deal compared to the new cards.
