I'm a bit new to Linux and only have experience with Tails. I'm considering trying one of these distributions: Gentoo, Solus, or Void Linux, but I'm not sure which one would be best for me. Can anyone share recommendations or experiences with these options?

Honestly, people overthink which distro to choose. Just pick one, get it installed, and start learning more about Linux. The more you familiarize yourself, the better you'll be at making informed decisions later on!

I've been using Gentoo for about a month and I really enjoy it, but honestly, I wouldn't recommend it for a new user. It's more beneficial to start with a simpler distro before diving into Gentoo later on. Both Solus and Void Linux could work well for beginners, but it really depends on your goals. How do you plan to use Linux? Are you cool with getting your hands dirty with setup, and how willing are you to troubleshoot and read the documentation? A bit more context would help us help you better!

None of those options seem ideal for someone who's new to Linux. It really depends on your specific needs and your comfort level with potential complexities. If you're truly set on those three, maybe reflect on what led you there in the first place. I’m just looking for opinions since I’m curious about these three distros, regardless of complexity!
