Why can’t I access the System Volume Information folder on my game disk?

I've noticed something strange with my 1TB disk that I mainly use for gaming. About 100GB of it is taken up by a folder called System Volume Information, and when I try to access it through File Explorer, I get an 'access denied' message. It's also a hidden folder. Is this normal? What can I do about it?

The System Volume Information folder is a standard part of Windows used for system restore points and other system data. It's usually hidden and restricted to protect important files. If you need to free up space, it's best not to delete this folder directly. You could manage your restore points or adjust your system settings instead. No worries! The amount of space the System Volume Information takes up can vary based on how many restore points you have. If you want to access it, you'll typically need to change your folder options to show hidden files and folders, but be cautious messing around in there.
