How can I get rid of annoying pop-ups on my Windows laptop that seem like a virus?

I recently ran a Windows security scan and it reported no threats, but I'm experiencing constant pop-ups on the right side of my screen. They look like normal Windows notifications, but every time I close one, a new tab in Google Chrome opens, claiming I need to delete a virus. It's unsettling, and I need some advice on how to resolve this issue. What steps should I take?

Those pop-ups are probably notifications from your browser. Check your notification settings in Chrome and see if you've allowed any sites to send you notifications. If you've granted permission to a scam site, that'll explain the bombardment of fake virus alerts!

It’s possible that your browser has been hijacked by a suspicious extension. I recommend removing all extensions and resetting your browser to get rid of any unwanted changes. Don't forget to check your sync account data too.

It sounds like you may be dealing with a potentially unwanted program (PUP) rather than a virus. Try downloading MalwareBytes and running a deep scan; it should help identify and quarantine any suspicious files.
