Troubleshooting High Temperatures on My Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN 240 RX Cooler

Hey everyone! I've got a Corsair iCUE LINK TITAN 240 RX cooler that I bought a few months back, and recently I've been getting some serious overheating warnings on the display. My coolant temperature is sitting at around 60°C while my CPU (9800X3D) is skyrocketing to 95°C during gaming, which used to only reach about 65-70°C max. The idle temps are decent at 50-55°C, but it seems like this all started happening suddenly with no changes to my setup. I've ensured that all my drivers, firmware, and BIOS are updated, so I don't think that's the cause. I'm worried that the pump might be failing, and with my recent job loss, I can't afford to spend 200-300 euros on a new cooler right now. I did order new thermal paste to see if that helps, but I'm not super confident. Also, the fans go crazy and blast at full speed for about five minutes when the overheat warning hits, which is pretty loud. Any advice on what I should check or do before assuming the pump is dead?

It sounds like you might have either a bad connection between your CPU and AIO cooler or a failing pump. Those could definitely cause the overheating you're experiencing. When you apply the new thermal paste, make sure the cooler is seated properly on the CPU to ensure good contact.

I'll keep that in mind! I'm really hoping it's just the paste or the contact issue.

Since you bought the cooler in February, it should still be under warranty—Corsair typically offers a 5-year warranty on these units. You could get a temporary cooler while you go through the RMA process. A decent dual tower cooler for around 30 euros would be more than sufficient for your CPU.

That's great to know! I'll look into some coolers and keep my fingers crossed that it's just the pump acting up.

If you’re not using an ITX build, consider switching to an air cooler for around 40 euros. It'll get you through until your finances are better. Yes, you'll lose out on the looks, but function over form, right?

It's a regular ATX build in a Corsair 4000D case, so I might just do that if the thermal paste doesn't solve the problem. Thanks for the suggestion!
